Casablanca

Also known as Al-Dār al-Bayḍāʾ, in Arabic, Casablanca is the major port city in Morocco. In the 12th century, the Amazigh (Berber) village called Anfa was located in its present day location. It received its name, Casablanca, from Spanish merchants in the 18th century, and was also known as Maison Blanche (White House), as French merchants also settled in that area.

A trip to Morocco would not be complete without seeing the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. Truly an architectural wonder and a sight to behold, you can experience the spiritual nature of it upon entering the mosque. Also, be sure to visit Casablanca’s medina, which will transport you back to another era.

When you need a break from sightseeing, Casablanca is also home to many wonderful beaches, shops, restaurants that will allow you to catch your breath, and plan for your next exciting day.
