Fes

Located south of Tangier, and close to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, another wonderful adventure awaits when you visit Fez, also known as Fès. One of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities, Fez was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991. Prior to 1912, Fez was the capital of Morocco, until the French and Spanish protectorate transferred it to Rabat, which resulted in revolt.

Fez is known for its trade and traditional crafts such as its beautiful ceramics and leather goods. It is home to the oldest and largest medina in Morocco, and for those who are adventurous, the medina calls out to you to try and navigate your way through its many passageways filled with shops, restaurants, museums, riads, and so much more.
