Located in southeastern Morocco, Merzouga is known as the gateway to the amazing Erg Chebi dunes. You can choose to stay in a basic camp or in a luxurious one…depending on your tastes and budget. Be sure to take a camel ride in the desert, escorted by expert desert guides, and take plenty of photos of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

If you want something speedier than a camel, there are ATVs available, or you may have one of the camp drivers show you around. Hold on to your hats! The dunes will excite!

After a delicious meal at your camp, sit around the crackling campfire, and listen to live Gnawa music. Gnawa’s roots are in sub-Saharan Africa, and its pulsating rhythm will get you out of your chair to dance the night away. If it’s a clear night, the stars in the sky will sparkle like diamonds.
